Nice child-friendly walk on the remains of an historic trail.
Tour description:
his is a nice and easy walk that takes you through the forests and along the river at Skeikampen. The trail is mostly flat, making it perfect for families with young children.
The walk starts at Høyfjellstunet. Follow the road east and turn right onto the walkway at the driving range/Segalstad seats. Cross Skeisvegen and go down to the first crossing in Fjellandsbyen. Turn right at the intersection and left down the lighted trail. Follow the lighted trail down to the large open space in the first turn. There, the trail takes off straight ahead into the forest. Follow this trail down the river past Helgafossen.
Helgafossen is a beautiful waterfall that is popular for swimming and fishing. If you are interested in fishing, be sure to bring a fishing rod and a permit.
After visiting Helgafossen, the trail continues along the river until you reach the treatment plant. Here, you will need to turn left and follow the road up to Skeikampen.
The trail then takes you through the forest and back to Fjellandsbyen. Be sure to close the gates behind you as you go.
