Great mountain hike on trail in varied terrain in high mountains and forest.
The hike starts at Høyfjellstunet and follows signs S9 Svarttjernstien. Start by walking out onto peer Gyntveien and down to the junction in Veslesetervegen. Turn in between the brown apartment buildings and Veslesetervegen and follow the trail down to paradise and onto Veslesetervegen again. Turn left when you get on the road and follow this to the next bend. Turn right towards Trisnipp and follow this straight on to Einstadsetra at the end of the road. The trail starts up to the left of the gate posts and goes through hilly rising terrain on an old mountain trail up to Systuggusetra. At Systuggusetra you turn right down the road about 200m before turning left onto the path that takes you on the south side of Nisjuvatnet, over the cliffs and up to Fyksesetra. From Fyksesetra, follow the road up to Peer Gyntvegen, which you just cross and turn off on the trail north. The trail goes steeply up from Lykjomtjønnet up to Ørnkampen. The trail continues straight ahead, but it's worth it to head all the way to the top.
From the ridge of Ørnkampen the trail goes straight ahead down the first cliff, past Svarttjønnet and further down to Skeiselva. Be careful when crossing the river. Follow the trail up the trail over your shoulder at Avlundkampen. From here, you head down to the ski resort. When you cross the slalom hill right after the shelter, you go straight ahead over the small bridge and continue on the trail down back to Høyfjellstunet.
The route is marked S9 Svarttjernstien.
