Length: 1.3 km. Elevation gain: 300m. Highest point: 1244 m.
From the parking lot in Torsdalen:
From the car park, follow the sign-posted trail S6 Skeikampen rundt long for a few hundred meters west. Then take the sign-posted trail S7 Prestkampen to the top. From the top, you can take a walk along the fantastic ridge at Bånseterkampene and return to the car park via trail S8 Slagsfjellrunden or by following the same route back (S7 Prestkampen).
From the center:
Follow the gravel road up to the top of the mountain. When the road ends, you can follow the slalom route up to the chairlift.
At the terminus of the chairlift, follow the trail that goes east towards Steinhytta. You can easily find the yellow trail here. Follow the trail past the top of the innermost ski lift and down to the trail junction below. Then, follow the T-marked Peer Gyntstien trail towards Avlundkampen.
Walk across Avlundkampen and turn right onto the orange path marked S8 Skeikampen rundt lang. Follow the trail down towards Gammeldalen and turn left at the trail junction sign S7 Prestkampen. Follow this trail to the top. There is a steep section at the top. Enjoy the great view from the top towards Rondane in the north and Jotunheimen in the northwest.
Follow the purple path back down. From here, there are three possible ways back:
- Continue on the purple/orange trail east towards Gammeldalen, and follow the gravel road back from Torsdalen. This is an easy return trip of about 6 kilometers, with not too much hiking in difficult terrain.
- Go back the same way you came, over Avlundkampen and then to the trail junction. If you go left, you can continue on the T-marked Peer Gyntstien trail on the lower side of the ridge at Skeikampen back again. This route offers good views of the upper golf course. Alternatively, you can follow the path to the right, which takes you on the west side of the mountain with views of Peer Gynt Vegen, Skeistua, and Skei Fjellkirke.
- Continue west on the orange trail signposted S5 Skeikampen rundt briefly and follow this back to Skei.
We hope you enjoy your hike!
